Literature Text

I

All I've written before is a lie,
Time has revealed facts I cannot deny.
This final day
Has shown a new way.
I finally see my accomplishments before me
Which before were too far to see.

II

Still the future is not clear
But it draws ever near
With mist about it slowly fading
And the lyrics of life starting to sing.

III

And even further my thoughts stay fused;
My mind half-times fails, perhaps overused,
But through it all I still see
Some things that seem inherently me.
I have become a person of parts,
Coming from a long way, to where life starts.
I am no longer told but in my own destiny.
I can choose to be slave to free.
To choose my dreams
From which engless hope gleams,
Or face my fears
And tackle my woes in floods of tears.
And I'll do it all, if I get the chance.
Because I'm not giving up any dance.
Each brings something new
Which I feel is due
To a person getting older
Who has felt and seen how things were.

IV

Dark days still cloud the horizons edge
But bright days always follow with a pledge
Of a never-everlasting depression;
Instead always a new ascension.
And this is done in many ways
Indeed it could take many days.
Beacons of people of good
Place you where you should
Be to live in harmony
With the sky, land and sea.
Just moments alone show
Where your life can go;
The darkness should show bad
And the good will show moments to make you glad.

V

In the end there is you
And all you hold true.
Be that one thing
Or everything.
Don't let go of such ideals
Or face the chance of losing how it feels
Not only to be something great,
But also becoming something you hate.
You won't be you
And already you are so few.

VI

The greatest loss isn't a million ones
But the loss of everyone of those million ones.
Facing the facts I see
There are too many;
They have become only a statistic
And that makes me sick.
Who knows their name
Or just that of who is to blame?
The worthy die forgotten
Never to breathe again
The killers live free
Written as heroes in history

VII

We live for all those lost.
Those, whose lives, our freedom cost,
Live in knowing all sacrifice.
And remember while playing with dice
The worth of life against the dollar
Worth less than the price of a slaves collar.
Freedom lives in mind
But actions don't portray it in kind.
Trapped in money
How can we ever be free?

VIII

Summber months as a child
With the right to run wild
Mean nothing now and seem trivial.
And dim now are the lights of the carnival...
We miss parts of our youth
But face the ultimate truth:
We cannot remember what
Because we forgot.
Does it mean so little?
Or do we just take life to the full:
Sacrificing history for the moment
Like it's heaven sent.

IX

The stars still guide after all these years,
Reliable as ever, we rest our dears,
Safe in the knowing
They will safely home bring
All things with no bias.
No wonder those of long ago felt pious.

X

But there's more as life always likes to hide.
It just points then lets us ride
For the journey we make
Never ends or starts to ache.
As, ever-moving, each human spirit changes all,
With an unbeknownst enthrall.
Just inspiring one thing each second
Makes a billion things to be reckoned.
So earn the inspiration you sow
As each thing will always grow.

XI

But wrong or right
I'll still let you fight
For a moment of profanity
Is better than a lifetime of insanity
And misplaced belief.
Just hope for relief
When the time comes
As we don't know whether to fear the drums
Or jump to our feet
And dance to their beat.

XII

And this is the end of an end.
One of many, and a year long friend.
A constant in chaos,
And the greatest loss
Of a personal year two thousand and eight.
And I hate how the end is never late;
Just slowly waiting to chime again,
To halt my writing and my pen.
But embrace is all we can do
To help get us through.
New years bring new goals
And births of new souls.
So the end of this signifies
The start of a waiting million goodbyes
And a chance to write more to be mistaken as lies.
